Cafe Adventures: Cake Spade

Top: Salted Caramel Tart
Bottom: Red Velvet Cheesecake

Another well-known cafe located in Tanjong Pagar district offering sweet treats from brownies to red velvet cakes. The shop was surprisingly small though. The cakes weren't very fantastic in my opinion but they still deserve a try.

Cafe Adventures @ Lola's Cafe

Ah.. It has been some time since I last visited cafes~

Spend time with the lovely Jasmine for some brunch today at "Lola's Cafe". It's one of the few cafes found in the North-east area that offers good food, coffee and ambience. Another cafe in the North-East area that I really like is "Letòile" at Farrer Park.

It's pretty easy to get there too, exit from Kovan Mrt exit B, walk past the bus stop, walk straight, cross the traffic light, turn left at the coffee shop and walk straight up a little and you'll reach "Lola's".

We ordered Avocado Eggs Bendict (Bottom) & Lola's Breakfast Monty Set (Top). Both not bad but not veryyyyyyyyy fantastic imo :)

Their Ice-Latte that we had.

Ta-dah, lovely time spent and it's glad that to know that we can be so similar in so many ways. Till next time~

January Favourites!! <3 <3 <3

1. Verite BB Cushion

Yes, I finally jump onto the bandwagon of the BB Cushions!! :D

Finally was convinced to get it after I saw my colleague used Etude House's bb cushion and it really looked so good on her.. :)

So I did my research.... I knew that the most popular BB cushion is none other than Laneige's Snow BB Soothing Cushion which I think discontinued and they came up with a new one..

But luckily, I landed on a famous korean youtuber YellowyCream's review about BB Cushion and she recommended "Verite" best for summer time. Read more at http://www.liahyoo.com/2013/08/korean-bbcc-cushion-foundation.html

and Singapore has "summer" all year round top with a humid weather, I immediately set my eyes on this baby and thanks goodness, at the same time Qoo10 SG was having a sales for it going at SGD $29.90 for one along w a refill pack!

I've never heard of Verite before honestly, but Verite is under the Korean Cosmetic company "Amore Pacific" which has many other brands under them,

Their brands include:

As you see, Etude House is also under them, but they are sort of under the lower range brands.. You can read more on the link given above.

Anyways, I really love the effect it gave on my skin..

But I had to be extremely careful too at the same time even though I bought it in shade 23 (supposedly the darker shade) but given my yellowish skin tone, this had a rather pink-whitish tone which I liked but did not exactly blend in with my skin tone. >.<

But still, I really love it.

It's way different from what you get from a typical bb cream which I think the cushion that is provided plays a big role in.

Because this product can be too fair for me, I will use it mainly on my forehead and cheekbone areas to "brighten" up those areas. and lightly brush the rest of the face with powder.

Previously I use to alternate between using my foundation or my cc cream + bb cream, now there's my bb cushion which I think I will be using more than the other two alternatives.

And to top it off, this doesn't change in colour or "runs off your face" after the end of the day!

It stays exactly as how you had applied it as and the colour is still bright and dewy just perfect for the Korean-look. :)

2) Loreal's Extraordinary Oil

For a long long time, I've given in to improve my hair condition.

I have really frizzy hair and it's a pain when I try to comb through in the morning or even try to comb through throughout the day with my fingers.

Guess the weather here doesn't helps either. Heard somewhere that our humid weather makes our hair frizzy. How true is that, I'm not sure but one thing for sure is that I found the perfect solution for my tangled, dry hair. I still think it doesn't really helps the frizziness though, but that's half the battle won ;)

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT, it's as extraordinary as it's name.

When I tried the sample at guardian, I was amazed by how "comb-able" my hair was and that it didn't leave a greasy touch to it (which I absolutely hate when it comes to hair products, trust me I tried so many products to save my hair, haha)

However, I was really sad when I found that they had another one specially formulated for "Permed and Dyed Hair" in a red bottle rather than the usual gold colour which I got. T.T and guardian had it at 20% discount while Watsons didn't (I got it in Watsons in the end).. Lesson learnt, do through research before purchase stuffs..

3) Miss Hana Pencil Eyeliner

For a long long time I stayed away from pencil eyeliners. I think I just don't have fate with pencil cosmetic products. Read my 3CE eyebrow review :P Most of the pencil eyeliners that I tried before smudges badly on me (Woe to oily eyelids:( )

But these were selling like hotcakes on Gmarket and they were going off at only SGD$6.90! I had to buy it~ :D

A bit about the product, Miss Hana is a Taiwanese brand and their pencil eyeliners are highly recommended by the famous Taiwanese make-up variety show "女人我最大“.

And true enough it did live up to my expectations! ^^

It didn't smudge for me for around 6 hours when I wore it to work. Usually my eyeliners only lasts me for a few hours before it goes runny. So I was really impressed with it. :)

And I've always prefer the pencil eyeliner look over liquid eyeliner, so I'm really glad that I've finally found one!

That's all for my January favourites! Hope the reviews were helpful :)
